9/11 ramped up the war on muslims that continues today, maybe worse than ever • u.s. imperialist violence has led to more deaths than we'll ever know (nightmare #s predate the escalation of mass death in palestine) • every one of those lost was a person • it's a day to learn about gaza's martyred journalists––like mariam abu dagga, described by baraa lafi, a colleague who's kept her coffee cup; or roshdi sarraj, beautifully remembered by shrouq al-aila, his wife, colleague, & *friend* • my "never forget" is that the people who are dying are people, & those in power directing death in our name are also people, & fuck those people; join the many more putting up a fight • the leaders of the city & country compounded 9/11's deaths, & it's still happening (They cleaned up ground zero. Now many hide from ICE) • 1st responders & frontline workers still face neglect • we still haven't closed our inhumane detention camps (guantánamo, rikers...) • giuliani was already done, but i hope the 9/11 docs make more politicians fear a reckoning • i hope we walk back the surveillance & profiling & stop our institutional funding of mass death • today after work i'll send a few emails to ask venues to boycott israel, cuz i'm tired but boycotting israel is truly the least we can do • 9/11 marked a shift in state propaganda & surveillance & we live in the amplification of that moment & i know you're tired, too, it makes sense • i wish us luck ok
